Earths Moon

Our reading group read the article "night lights" from connected 3, 1999, and we wrote a report about Earths moon.

How many moons do you think Neptune has? 1, 3, 10, 20 the answer is 11. If you want to learn more facts on the moon read the rest of the report.
First how was the sun moons and planets formed?
About five billion years ago, a big cloud of gas and dust was in space when it started shrinking under its own gravity. At its centre the cloud started generating heat because of its pressure. It began to burn and catch on fire forming the Sun other dust clouds turned into planets, Moons and Meteors. Some Meteors crashed into planets and moons leaving craters on there surfaces.
Secondly its appearance
Even without binoculars you can see dark patches on the Earth's moon. These are called "seas", volcanic lava once flowed in them. Meteorites have slammed into the surfaces of the moon hundreds of times leaving craters all over the surface of the moon. Did you know the biggest craters are over 300 km across (that’s the distance from wellington to taupe?)
Finally what affect does the moon have on the earth?
You would think its affect is to light the night, well that’s the reflection of the sun its true affect is to control the tides. Imagine the moon was a magnet and the water is metal, the moon pulls and pushes the water making waves.
So there are some facts on the moon.

Walt: create an advertisement persuading people to go to the Special Olympics here in Palmerston North. I used MS Publisher to create this poster. To make my poster stand out and grab the readers attention I put lots of colurs in my words. I found making it stand out challenging because some backround colurs dont go with the colurs of the words. Something I enjoyed was everything because it was my first advertising poster. Something interesting I learnt about advertising was everything needs to stand out.
